The New Epoch
is Coming
In between Imperator
speaking in the 1870s and Silver Birch speaking in the late 1930s and 40s came
the mystic master Peter Deunov, a member of the White Brotherhood incarnated to
tell us about the “New Epoch” approaching.
After his 1897
illumination, Deunov adopted the name “Beinsa Douno,” or the “the Bringer of
Good through the Word.”
Deunov was born in
1864 and died in 1944. He lived most of his life in his native Bulgaria but was educated in theological
colleges and medical school in the United States
On March 7, 1897, his
biographer says, the Spirit of God descended on him. (1) He was thirty-three at
the time. As a result, he realized his mission and status as a master of the
Great White Brotherhood.
On March 9, 1914,
Douno proclaimed the advent of the “New Era of Aquarius.” From then until his
death, he lectured about cosmology, the White Brotherhood, and the coming new
world.
In 1917, the man later
to be known as Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov met Beinsa Douno and becamehis
fast discliple.
In many ways his style
is reminiscent of an Old-Testament prophet (Jeremiah comes to mind) and people
may have difficulty reading it. But the fact remains that Douno is a
second case (thirdwith
Silver Birch) of a spiritual leader predicting the events which are occurring
around us. His case cannot but be corroborative.
He predicted that “a
new Epoch is … coming.” (2) He said “there will be a new heaven and a new
earth, and a New Humanity.” (3) In that new age, everyone “will have such
freedom as when God first gave it to them.” (4)
“When we enter [the
New Epoch], we will be as free as those who are our Advanced Brothers: the
Angels, the Archangels, the Cherubim and the Seraphim. (5)
At this time, “the
idea of brotherhood will come into realization.”(6) In those times, “the
strong will be the servant of the weak.” (7)
He painted a glowing
word picture of what life would be like in the New Epoch:
“The houses will not
be constructed as they are now, but will be built several kilometers away from
one another. The animals will be given rest from the people. To the artists,
musicians and other people of the arts, the best conditions for work will exist. …
“The inner wealth, the
knowledge which a person possesses, will be available to all. Now you are
provided with air, light and water. One day the bread too will be given to you
like the air, the water and the light. …
“People will have
bread in abundance. Everyone will have a home, a garden and fruit trees. When
you pass through a place that is new to you, you will be asked from all sides
to come in for a visit.
“In the new Order,
everything old will disappear and all things will be completely new. …
“Somebody may say,
‘When we are perfect, what will we do?’ We will then begin to live. (8)
One cannot help but compare what Douno says to what SaLuSa, Matthew Ward and Saul say. They also
predict abundant and a life of ease, in which people may pursue what interests
them instead of slaving for others. They also say the animals will be
given rest from people.
According to Douno,
all of Heaven and the cosmos is interested in what is happening today on Planet
Earth. This interest is also a common theme in contemporary 2012
literature. Douno says:
“That which now is
coming into the world is so magnificent that all the Angels [peek] down from
Heaven in order that they may see what is coming and what is taking place on
earth.
“All of Heaven – the
Whole of Creation – is interested in this. The Great Day is coming into the
world.” (9)
The Men of the
New Humanity are Here
Douno talked about
“members of the White Brotherhood” (10) agreeing to be born in his time and
later to lead the way into the New Epoch. He called them the “men of the New
Humanity.” The present-day masters of ascension also say that advanced
people – wayshowers - have been born to lead us.
“The men of the New
Humanity are already living,” Douno said. Certainly Douno must have been
one of them. “They will increase in order to carry [all] over the world
their new ideas.” (11)
His description of
them sounds at least in part like descriptions of the Earth allies, with whom
we are familiar. (12)
“They are now here, on
earth; they are incarnated among the intelligent people.
“Some of them are
writers; others, poets or men of science; and all of them push humanity forward
on the path toward the new idea, toward the Divine.
“These are the enemies
of darkness, of the fetters that enchain humanity. And the world-wise unrest,
this great change that is coming, is due to them. They will turn this world
upside down.” (13)
How would we recognize
one of them if we saw him or her?
“Here are their
[signs]: if the bearer of the New Teaching is a doctor when he comes to your
home he will bring all the medicine you need and will take from you no money
but will say: ‘I serve for nothing.’
“If he is a priest,
when you ask him to baptize your child or read a burial service he will not
accept any money but will only say: ‘I serve the New Teaching.’ If he is a
trader, he will trade honestly; if he is a teacher, he will teach for nothing.”

In another
description, Douno compares the New Humanity to “people of the Sun,” or
angels.
“What is the
distinguishing feature of the new man? If you would like to know whether the
man is a new or an old one, observe what kind of thoughts and feelings he is
nourishing within himself. The old man is feeding himself with negative
thoughts and feelings, and the new – with positive ones.
“When I speak about
the new man, I have in mind the people of the Sun who live with Joy. They are
exuberant, generous and overcome their difficulties easily.
“They are heroes, men
with open hearts. They use everything wisely. They enjoy everything. In both
suffering and pleasure, the new man is filled with an inner joy. He knows that
both the bad and the good conditions are given in order for him to grow.” (15)
In addition to the New
Humanity, the masters of all the great spiritual traditions will return to
serve the New Epoch.
“All saints, adepts
and Masters from time immemorial will come. Their mighty spirit will direct all
awakened souls throughout the earth and all of these together will establish
perfect order and harmony in the world.
“After they finish
their task, they will withdraw and will leave humanity to live and work under
the new conditions. Thus, the communication between the visible and the
invisible worlds will be restored.” (16)
Douno names a third
class of divine helpers. “The Invisible World is sending workers with their
hammers to work on people’s homes.” (17) To me, this sounds like a reference to
the galactic engineers bringing their replicator technology to us. They come
from a higher dimension which is in fact an invisible world to us.
The Divine Wave
of Fire
In one of his
lectures, Douno uses the analogy of a fruit tree to distinguish among three
groups of people alive today – the ripe, the unripe, and the bad.
“We wonder what will
happen to those people who were not able to accept the Divine. The issue is
clear. I come to a fruit tree and collect the ripe fruit, and for the others, I
will wait. When they ripen, I will pick them as well, and the bad fruit I will
use as fertilizer.” (18)
The ripe will ascend;
the unripe must wait for another chance; and the spoilt will be destroyed. The
unripe are those who reject Ascension, The spoilt are those who so reject the
Light that their energy is returned to Creator for reuse. These types too have
been discussed in current literature on Ascension. (19)
Douno describes the
time of sorting as being the time during which a divine wave of fire sweeps the
Earth. This may be a description of the Ascension or it may be a more general
description of our coming into the photon belt.
If the former, then
the sorting process may happen quickly; if the latter, it may happen slowly.
This divine wave comes
from what he calls “Cosmic Space” and what we would call the Galactic Center
“A new Wave is coming
from out of the Cosmic Space: the Wave of Divine Love.
“It is also called
‘the Wave of Fire’. This Wave has powerful vibrations which not every human
being can endure. … Those who are ready to withstand the vibrations of this
Wave and assimilate them will become luminous.” (20)
Descriptions of
residents of the Fifth Dimension often stress their luminosity when seen by
residents of the Third.
The divine fire will
wake sleeping souls and burn away impurities.
“Yet for those who
cannot bear [the vibrations], it will be a Fire which will either consume them
or will cause them to pass through great suffering. This will prepare them to
awaken and receive Love. …
“Everything old and
impure will burn in it. After man passes through this Divine Fire, the Kingdom of God
“This Wave of Fire
will soon pass over the world and purify it.” (22)
Perhaps we will have
to wait until after First Contact to find out whether this purification process
will take place gradually over the next three years or will be more sudden. The
outcome however is not in doubt: the outcome will be Ascension.
“All human thoughts
and desires will pass through this Fire and become purified in the most perfect
way. The Great Life will enter you, and you will become transformed.
“As the smith places
the iron in the fire in order to refine it, so too, the Intelligent World will
pass us through the Fire so that we can be purified and tempered.” (23)
“The Wave of Fire will
pass through the minds of all people. You all will pass through this Divine
Fire; you will free your souls and be liberated from bondage.” (24)
It would be best for
all of us to have settled our old issues before that time, he tells us. “Woe to
those who have not yet managed to settle their accounts.” (25)
The Old Will
Fall to Make Way
Certainly for Douno,
who watched the First and Second World Wars ravage Europe ,
the old was falling to make way for the new.
“Because the earth
enters a new sphere, all the old forms will change. The new forms will destroy
the old ones. … The old forms will fall away as do the leaves in autumn. In the
place of the old people, new ones will come with new ideas.” (26)
He spoke of Earth changes,
one passage appearing to predict global warming:
“The whole earth at
present is undergoing a great change, a reconstruction. This will continue
until its forces become balanced. The earth will undergo disturbances. There
exist ways to predict in which region of the planet the greatest turbulence
will occur. …
“The Great Wave which
comes now breaks up the ice and turns it into water. This is the Great
Intelligent Wave that already draws near to the world.
“After these events,
human egotism will vanish and people will begin to live freely and as brothers.
The time has come for all people to abandon the old way of life. (27)
Douno saw these
changes as links to the cleansing of karma.
“All this is linked to
the eradication of the karma of humankind which has accumulated for thousands
of years. Until all old concepts, thoughts and feelings burn in the Fire of
suffering, man cannot enter into the new Life which is due to come now.”
(28)
“The present events
indicate the paying off of an old debt: the eradication of karma. An
acceleration in the eradication of the past error of humankind is taking place
at present – everything that has accumulated is being eradicated.” (29)
“The karma of the
European nations is already ripe and creates tribulations for the whole of
humankind.” (30)
While he doesn’t name
the Illuminati, or the Annunaki behind them, he does remind us that the dark
has ruled the world for millennia. The world has incurred much karma from
following their orders.
“Because for thousands
of years man was under the influence of the negative forces, these forces now
turn against him. Man has strayed from his right path, and all misfortunes are
due to that. People have deviated from many things and for this reason, have
remained behind in their development. (31)
“The present troubles
come because man did not accept voluntarily and with an awakened consciousness
to fulfill the Will of God. Even greater disturbances – external as well as
internal -will come in order for man to awaken and fulfill the Will of God. to
serve God. This will be forced upon humankind.” (32)
Many Sleepers
Will Remain Behind
We recall that the
unripe fruit would not be picked but would be allowed to ripen and be picked
another day. These are the sleepers. Some sleepers may awaken in time to
enter the New Epoch, but others will have to wait for the next divine wave.
Douno told his
listeners that “the one who wishes to remain in the old conditions can do so.”

“Those whose
consciousness has awakened will perceive the Great Divine Cause and be
transformed. The remainder – those whose consciousness has not awakened – will
continue to sleep.” (34)
“Those who do not
awaken during the contemporary epoch will be left for other times.” (35)
“Those who do not want
to connect with God, will be tossed by waves out of the general movement of the
Day of the Lord and will need to wait for another period of ascent: that is,
they will need to wait for another wave.
“All those who are
ascending toward God will enter Heaven, but those from the other period will
remain descended outside of God. The door will be closed to them for a while.”

Included among the
sleepers is the one who minds his own business, attending only to the trivial.
“One day, when Christ
comes to knock at their door, those who tend only to their own affairs, who do
trivial things, will find themselves without oil in their lamps.
“Then will they come
to their senses, but the divine ship will have left, without waiting for
anyone. Therefore everyone must be ready to board the ship on time.” (37)
He cautioned his
listeners that “if you wait until the future, the conditions will be more
difficult then.” (38)
The Dark Will
Be Destroyed
The third class of
fruit is the spoilt, which is useful only as fertilizer. We may wonder at this
description of people being destroyed, but I can refer you to at least one
source on life on the spirit planes who refers to the matter. See Philip
Gilbert’s description of the fate of the “Angel of Death,” the Nazi prison
guard Irma Grese. (39)
Probably numbers of
the so-called “New World Order,” responsible for a long list of atrocities
which I have discussed elsewhere, (40) would fall into this category.
After the wave of
divine fire has passed over the Earth, “evil will not attempt to come near it
again.” (41)
Douno’s writings are
steeped in the Biblical and nowhere does he wax more prophetic than in his
warnings to evil-doers. “The sword of the Spirit is raised and woe unto
those who are enemies of the Truth,” he warns. (42)
His description of
their fate is grim:
“Great warmth and
light are coming into the world. These are Divine powers, which will warm and
enlighten human hearts and minds. When warmth and light of Love come into the
world, they will melt and burn all evil, criminal people, so only good and
righteous persons will remain to live and it will become clear that one cannot
play with Love.” (43)
It is commonly said
today, in the channeled messages than many of us are following, that the dark
will not abide the Light and will leave. Here is Douno predicting that many
years before galactic channels said it.
Love is the Sap
of the New Tree
According to Douno:
“God’s Love is now
coming: that Love which will unite all people into one.
“All are searching for
the One Great Law which will unite all people, all beings. This Law is Love.”
(44)
“Love will provide the
sap for the new culture. It will provide the material which will be in
accordance with the forms of the future order.” (45)
When Cosmic Love comes
to us, “your spirit will transform your body. Then you will be worthy members
of the New culture, of the New race.” (46)
If we wish to be able
to fully take that love in, then, in the time left, we must erase our
shortcomings.
Our
Shortcomings Must Go
The time is past,
Douno, says where one may “go against Divine Law. People must forsake their old
ways, for the New Epoch, the new uplift is now commencing.” (47)
Those who think they
have attained a good stage of development must go even higher.
“You think that if you
make one step higher something like a cataclysm may occur. No, this state of
mind is the most pleasant one can hope for. You will be like a woman in labour.
She weeps and screams, but once she delivers her child, she forgets all the
sufferings right away.
“You may have to weep,
too, but once you have delivered you will reach a state so great you could have
never imagined it. Such weeping will be unusual. Courage is needed for it. It
is not an easy task and yet it is not difficult either. Only in this way [may
we] become strong.” (48)
Without ridding
ourselves of our shortcomings, we build a foundation, not on rock, but on sand.
It will not suffice to allow us to enter the New Epoch.
“What will happen if a
new order comes, but your old character – your shortcomings – remain? It is
easy to destroy the old, but what can be achieved with your bad character?
“How would you benefit
if you tear down your old home but cannot build a new one? Nature does not
permit this: She destroys and builds simultaneously.
“The moment in which
you err you enter the night. The tragedy lies in the fact that people desire to
do all things in the night. …
“Your mind and heart
must pass from one state into another.” (49)
Our efforts will not
bear fruit until we make love the foundation of our consciousness.
“What kind of consciousness
am I speaking of? Man must set Love as the foundation of his life and through
Love, create the new Consciousness.
“The suffering of
people today is greater than it was at the time of Christ. The resolution of
the most difficult problems will come through Love.
“Love will come in a
real, living form and will sweep away everything old.” (50)
The Purpose of
Present-Day Suffering
Douno lived his life
surrounded by the suffering of two world wars. But he maintained that
suffering had a purpose: “Suffering will force man to take up the path of
Love.” (51)
Our sufferings “show
that we have lost the energy of our life. And we are going to suffer till the
lost balance is restored.” (52)
Whether intentionally
or not, Douno was describing himself when he talked about the man who suffers
and remains joyous.
“Through his trials
and suffering, man can determine the degree of his development.
“If his spirit is
strong, he endures. If you suffer and bear your suffering with joy, you have
Love. The more a man progresses, the greater are the suffering, trials and
tribulations which he meets in life.
“Be thankful that you
have difficulties so that you may come to know your character and the strength
of your belief. Man must be ready to give up everything for Love, Wisdom and
Truth.” (53)
According to Douno,
“suffering is necessary for the development of man.”
“We have only now, in
this age, started to suffer because we have become more sensitive. It is true
that contemporary people suffer more, but suffering is noble and it will
transform society.” (54)
He saw the sufferings
of his time as “harbingers of a new Life for which refined matter needs to be
prepared. As a result of the suffering, the matter of the brain will become
more and more refined. To suffer means to send down roots deep into the ground
and to work. Through suffering, conflicts and contradictions, you acquire
experience with the great Laws which direct Life.” (55)
The contradictions
which existed at present, bringing two world wars on the world, said, “will not
be repeated in the future.” (56)
Always he drew
people’s attention back towhat they could expect in the New Epoch.
“When the real Life
comes there will be no more tears. After every sadness, something new,
something great is born in the human soul. All great ideas are born after great
sorrow. … As soon as [the New Epoch] is born, he will be filled with
joy.” (57)
Not all of what Beinsa
Douno says is easily translatable into the language now being used to talk
about the “New Epoch.” Not all of what he says is understandable. Beinsa Douno
was a mystic, a man far removed from the ordinary mind, communing with unknown
realities, which, for many of us, may await Ascension to understand.
Nonetheless, it is
affirming to hear another voice from the last century predicting events that we
today see unfolding before our eyes.
